Bur am Orde, Eva
Eva Bur am Orde was born in Essen (Germany) on 9 November 1961. At first she studied Archaeology and Philosophy at the Wilhelmsuniversität (Münster), but later changed to the Academy of Fine Arts at Munich in order to study Interior Architecture. Afterwards she studied Painting at the AdBK Munich with Franz Bernhard Weisshaar and Interdisciplinary Arts with Hermann Nitsch at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. In 1996, she received a diploma for her studies from the AdBK Munich. Since 2009, she has lived and worked in a studio of her own at Rottweil. She founded the artist group Akademiekünstler 3 and is a member of the Academy for Art and Design Mitteldeutschland.
Eva Bur am Orde calls her own style “Ethno Pop Art”. She synthesizes Urban-Street and Pop Art with universal motifs and Art-Deco-Elements. “Ethno Pop Art” aims at giving artistic expression to her ethnological and ethical views. They are unique depictions of the artist´s general belief that discussion about aesthetics and moral attitudes, that is philosophical contents, can be expressed by an artwork.
Eva Bur am Orde is a prolific artist and highly engaged in exhibiting her art works internationally. She is represented by LDXArtodrome Gallery.
