Biography:
Jutta Maria Clemens was born in Lörrach/ Germany on 17th June 1955. First she studied painting at Nice which she later continued and finalized as “master student“ at the Academy Julius Hebing at Berlin. Since 1991, she has worked as freelance artist at Berlin.
Publicist and philosopher Hans Christian Förster calls her works “Erlebnisbilder” (images of experiences). He interprets her “petal ensembles” not as mere copies of reality. They are no objects to be viewed or valued for their exterior appearance but as conversational compositions. (“dialogische Kompositionen”).This means that the artist has approached the object of experience from a subjective , imaginative point of view to reveal its inner structures. They hold intuitive, emotional, intellectual and spiritual statements that reflect the human condition on canvas.
Her exceptional portrayals can be seen as depictions of transience, that limit the time of beauty, or as an aesthetic energy of harmonious colours: possible associations are numerous and add to the fascination of her unique pictures.
Jutta Maria Clemens has mainly exhibited in the German speaking countries and is represented by LDXArtodrome Gallery since 2015.
