Heim, Roland S.
Biography:
Roland S. Heim was born in Bregenz/Austria on 13th May 1962. His focus is on photography, especially on portrait and nude photography as well as concept art. He is a member of the artist’s „group 30“ (Gruppe 30). Due to his reverence for Salvador Dali, he bears an S. in his name.
In his works, Heim uses various other methods besides mere photography such as colouring or over- painting. Thus he explores the most interesting combination of photography and painting and it seems that both techniques melt with each other in his works. It is not astonishing that Roland S. Heim has succeeded in receiving several art awards for is works. Among others he was the first Austrian photographer to receive the award “Photographer Of The Week” from “The New Nude”, whose Art Director is the well known nude photographer Petter Hegre. The artist produces his works in small limited editions in gallery quality (for instance: Fuji Crystal Archive-Paper on Aluminum board under acrylic glass) in formats up to 180 x 300 cm. His art works hang, among others, in Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art in Las Vegas.
